MEET OUR FIBER SCULPTORS
Elizabeth
(Skeeter) Scheid
Born in Ohio, a considerable number of years ago, I knew in gradeschool I wanted to be an artist.
I have been a teacher, watercolor painter, and currently a fiber sculptor. I have participated in Springfield Art Guild, Artisans United, and Artful Dimensions.
As an arts activist I was on the Board of the Arts Council of Fairfax County. I have been Artist In Residence at Noyes School of Rhythm, a camp in Portland CT for movement and rhythm. I attend every summer to fill up my creative well, and have had the experience of joining a band of gypsies, visiting the Wizard of Oz, and being kidnapped by pirates.
My art, consisting currently of art dolls, tree sculptures, and bark assemblies, springs from a deep love of the forest, and the whimsey and magic of living on earth
Sally Cooney
Anderson
Sally Cooney Anderson received a BFA from Syracuse University in 1971 and worked for more than 30 years as a Graphic Designer and Photographer in New York City, and as a non-profit manager in New York, Florida, California, and Northern Virginia, specializing in marketing and fundraising. After moving to Fredericksburg in 2005, she became a Professional Volunteer and has served at several organizations including the disAbility Resource Center, Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Fredericksburg Host Lions Club, The Holiday Project, AARP Fredericksburg Chapter, and the Rappahannock United Way.

Several years ago, after visiting Artful Dimensions Gallery in Fredericksburg, she was inspired to take advantage of her fine-art training and she became a Fiber Artist. Sally concentrates on free-form crochet as a technique in creating fashion for the body and the home.

Sally’s mission is to create, produce, and share vehicles for people to discover empowering new opportunities that support the attainment of their goals and the quality of their lives.
