MEET our glass artist
Linda Condray
Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type speLinda Condray has been working with glass since 1992. I have always enjoyed working on artistic endeavors in various mediums. I was that toddler drawing on the walls with lipstick and anything else I could get my little hands on. I found my favorite medium and lasting passion in glass while my husband and I were stationed on Guam where a neighbor got me started in traditional stained glass methods. I have since explored almost every aspect of working in glass.
I joined the Workhouse Arts Center as a resident artist in August 2021. I am an instructor as well in the Flameworking side of the Workhouse Glasshouse program. I have been teaching since 2016 and thoroughly enjoy introducing people to working on glass in the flame environment.cimen book. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet. Vivamus ante.
I work in many glass mediums and am constantly exploring all the new and exciting methods of working glass being offered to the “hobby” artist today. I often combine glass working methods and materials. So, you may see flameworked and fused pieces incorporated into a fused glass panel or other materials incorporated with the glass to make a unified piece. I like to think of myself as an artist who paints in glass just as a painter would with liquid medium. The glass has many limitations compared with painting but it also has other unique attributes. I especially like that glass is affected by light from all directions and that a piece changes dramatically with changing light conditions. Most of my themes tend to be nature oriented and I love to add a sense of the whimsical. Don’t be surprised to find a little bee or ladybug flittering around on a piece or fairies cavorting in my display.
